I've been obsessively been listening to the National since Alligator, and this one song has stuck out for me this week ,maybe the slow lull and this amazingly matched movie and mood from Ang Lee's "The Ice Storm", but I just cant get over it. In fact, all the national songs are brilliant, this is just my favorite this week.
Their new Album will be coming out soon, so expect my full review

Super Groups are never really my thing but this...
Last week I went to go see "the Dead weather", thats right, Jack White(you know who), Alison Mosshart(The Kills and Discount), Dean Fertita (Queens of the stone age)and Jack Lawrence (The Racontuers). Not so fussed about Queens of the Stoneage but fucking Jack White and Allison Mosshart, are, what can I say apart from inspiring. I mean, White is by far more important than anything Mosshart can do but man, she was hot on stage! Spitting everywhere, doing her Patti Smith thing, generally out of it. But it was awesome. Sold out, but I managed to scab a cheap ticket from a nice lady outside.
Well if you want to see photos from the gig, look at my friend Cherry's photos. They are pretty awesome.

Fair well Ryan, I will miss you.
As the latest updates of Ryan Adams come flooding in about his new Ep with Orion records, we are facing a new "Metal" period of Ryan.
When I first heard this I was excited, thinking he was going back to his days of "Rock N Roll" but it seems no, it seems Ryan has overshot himself, and Im sad. Listening to his earlier records, like Heartbreaker, Cold roses or even Easy Tiger, you wondering what fucked up things are going through his mind to move to metal.
Oh Ryan why you so mad?
Tell me, are you ready for a new Ryan? or are you sad with me?

The Smiths.

Easily one of the most influential bands to date, The Smiths are still played and worshiped by the youth, for Morrissey's apt portrayal of break ups, hate, mad love and a generations anxiety of growing up, all en-capturing the life of youth; with the following, Morrrissey was transformed from the town idiot to the spokesperson of a generation.
I love the smiths, and always love the smiths. Lets just enjoy Morrissey's completely cuntish but beautiful lyrics. Oh and we can't forget Johnny Marr. He is brilliant.
